Yahweh, Elohim, al-Lah, God is the presence
in whom my being comes alive
the core and ground of my existence
the infinite and inexhaustible ground of all being
the source of life and goodness
the fountain of all holiness
the originator of unconditional love and
the initiator of the Big Bang.

This presence calls me to fulness of life
to praise and thanksgiving
to integrity and wholesomeness and
to courageous vulnerable love.

Rabbi Jesus the Messiah teaches me
to live fully
to act justly
to love tenderly
to walk humbly with my God and
where necessary to lose graciously.

-----------------------------

All praise belongs to God,
Lord of all worlds,

the Compassionate, the Merciful,

Ruler of Judgement Day.

It is You that we worship,
and to You we appeal for help.

Show us the straight way,

the way of those You have graced,
not of those on whom is Your wrath,
nor of those who wander astray.

-----------------------------

Beloved God,
help us all to love you
more and more,
and more and more,
and still yet more,
until we become worthy of union of you;
and help us all to hold fast to Baba's daaman
until the very end.

-----------------------------

Blessed are You, O Lord our God,
Wellspring of all that is.

You are the sea on which we float,
You are the wind that fills our sails,
You are the storm that buffets us,
You are the calm that brings us peace.

Open our ears to hear Your word,
Open our eyes to see Your beauty,
Open our hearts to be warmed by Your love.

Free us from our lonely prisons of fear and selfishness,
And make us over, day by day, into bearers of Your peace.

-----------------------------

Center of all centers, core of cores,
almond self-enclosed and growing sweet-
all this universe, to the furthest stars
and beyond them, is your flesh, your fruit.

Now you feel how nothing clings to you;
your vast shell reaches into endless space,
and there the rich, thick fluids rise and flow,
Illuminated in your infinite peace.

A billion stars go spinning through the night,
blazing high above your head.
But in you is the presence that
will be, when all the stars are dead.

-----------------------------

Father, I abandon myself into your hands;
do with me what you will.
Whatever you may do, I thank you:
I am ready for all, I accept all.
Let only your will be done in me,
and in all Your creatures -
I wish no more than this, O Lord.

Into your hands I commend my soul;
I offer it to you with all the love of my heart,
for I love you Lord,
and so need to give myself,
to surrender myself into your hands,
without reserve,
and with boundless confidence,

For you are my Father.

-----------------------------

Glory be to the Father
and to the Son
and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning is now,
and ever shall be,
world without end.
Amen

-----------------------------

Glory to God in this marvellous form - half man, half lion!
Glory to that Great Lion!
Glory to the Divine Lion of great strength!
Glory to that Terrible Lion, the Great God!

Glory to that Wrathful One with terrible eyes,
Who, by His own desire, is born from a pillar,
although He is unborn and the Source of everything!
Let us praise the All-Wonderful Consort of the Goddess of Fortune,
Who takes pleasure in yoga and removes
the suffering of His devotees,
whose hearts He has stolen
the first time they heard about His great deeds!

I adore my Five-faced Lord, Who always
sees and protects all directions.
I bow before the Supreme Absolute;
before Him who is utterly terrible and supremely merciful.
I bow before Him of flaming face,
Who is surrounded by a garland of flames.
How can I describe that Great Flame, the Great Lord?

Forever I want to sing the glories of Him,
Who possesses innumerable wonderful qualities.
His eyes are everywhere,
reflected in the eyes of a child, or an old man,
a rainbow, or a flower.
And yet, He is so difficult to behold!
But still, I long to see Him, the Destroyer of Enemies.

Arise, oh Lord, let Thy enemies be scattered,
and let those that hate You flee from You!
Then, as You please, return, oh Lord,
to rest among Your children!

Please, bless us,
who will gather around You, feeling so safe,
like baby birds that huddle under the wings of their mother;
wings that feel so incomparable soft from underneath,
although that mother-bird looks fierce from the outside,
with sharp beak and watchful eyes,
ready to protect it's little ones.

Kindly rest among us, oh Darling of Lakshmidevi!
For we long for You, just like a thirsty field,
above which heavy black clouds are hanging,
but still no rain is falling.
Such is the longing of Your children,
whose hearts remember You,
Whose beauty excels the clouds',
but whose eyes cannot see You,
oh Destroyer of enemies, oh Great Lord!

You are the Creator,
and You are the One
Who dissolves all creation.
You are the Non-doer;
ever changeless; resting in Yourself.
And You are the Doer behind everything,
without Whose will neither a leaf falls,
nor a cat licks it's paws,
nor a woman blinks her eyes.

You are the Infallible,
the Almighty,
the Soul of the Universe.
You are beyond all material qualities;
You are the Inconceivable!

All the Vedas worship You,
You are the Form of all mantras,
and the Soul of all yantras.
Your thousand arms are everywhere.
You are the Giver of boons, full of joy,
the Maintainer of the universe!

Decorated with sandalwood paste and Tulasi leaves,
Your lotus feet are so lovely to behold.
Your broad chest,
which is the eternal resting place of Lakshmi Ma,
is adorned with the Srivatsa mark, the Kaustubha jewel,
and with shiny golden necklaces.
You raise one of Your soft lotus hands to bless Your devotees,
while Your other hand gently holds Your devotee Prahlad.
The nails of those hands are the most powerful weapons,
and their touch is the source of all auspiciousness.
Your teeth are like thunderbolts,
and Your beautiful mane has become even more beautiful
by getting sprinkled with the blood of your enemies.

Wearing a beautiful garland of forest flowers,
You shine like the light of the sun.
You are the Supreme Soul, the Supreme Light.
You are the Supreme Truth, and the Supreme Refuge.
Your Form is eternal, full of knowledge and full of bliss.

Let me rest in Your divine hand!
For You love those that take refuge in You
more than a cow loves her new-born calf,
whose body is gently caressed by her tongue.

You are the life-giving Soul of everything,
the protector of Prahlad,
and me.

-----------------------------

God, I offer myself to Thee -
to build with me
and to do with me as Thou wilt.
Relieve me of the bondage of self,
that I may better do Thy will.
Take away my difficulties,
that victory over them may bear witness
to those I would help of Thy Power,
Thy Love, and Thy Way of life.
May I do Thy will always!

-----------------------------

God is the light
of the heavens and the earth.
The smile of God's light
is like a niche in which is a lamp,
the lamp in a globe of glass,
the globe of glass as if it were a shining star,
lit from a blessed olive tree
neither of the East nor of the West,
its light nearly luminous
even if fire did not touch it.
Light upon light!
God guides to this light
whomever God will:
and God gives people examples;
and God knows all things.

-----------------------------

God! There is no god but He -
The Living, The Self-subsisting. Eternal.
No slumber can seize him nor sleep.
His are all things in the heavens and on earth.
Who is there that can intercede in His presence except as He permitteth?
He knoweth what is before or after or behind them.
Nor shall they encompath aught of His knowledge except as He willeth.
His Throne doth extend over the heavens and the earth,
and he feeleth no fatigue in guarding and preserving them for He is The Most High, The Supreme.

Let there be no compulsion in religion.
Truth stands out clear from error:
whoever rejects Evil and believes in God
hath grasped the most trustworthy handhold, that never breaks.
And God heareth and knoweth all things.

God is the Protector of those who have faith;
From the depth of darkness He will lead them forth into light.
Of those who reject faith the patrons are the Evil Ones;
from light they will lead them forth into the depths of darkness.
They will be Companions of the fire, to dwell therein forever.

-----------------------------

God to enfold me,
God to surround me,
God in my speaking,
God in my thinking.

God in my sleeping,
God in my waking,
God in my watching,
God in my hoping.

God in my life,
God in my lips,
God in my soul,
God in my heart.

God in my sufficing,
God in my slumber,
God in mine ever-living soul,
God in mine eternity.

-----------------------------

Hear, 0 Israel: The LORD our God is one LORD:

And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart,
and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

-----------------------------

He is the Compassionate, the All-Bountiful!
O God, my God!
Thou seest me, Thou knowest me;
Thou art my Haven and my Refuge.
None have I sought nor any will I seek save Thee;
no path have I trodden nor any will I tread
but the path of Thy love.
In the darksome night of despair,
my eye turneth expectant and full of hope
to the morn of Thy boundless favor
and at the hour of dawn my drooping soul is refreshed
an strengthened in remembrance of Thy beauty and perfection.
He whom the grace of Thy mercy aideth,
though he be but a drop,
shall become the boundless ocean,
and the merest atom which
the outpouring of Thy loving-kindness assisteth,
shall shine even as the radiant star.

Shelter under Thy protection, O Thou Spirit of purity,
Thou Whom art the All-Bountiful Provider,
this enthralled, enkindled servant of Thine.
Aid him in this world of being
to remain steadfast and firm in Thy love
and grant that this broken-winged bird
attain a refuge and shelter in Thy divine nest
that abideth upon the celestial tree.

-----------------------------

He speaks sweetly dear,
that enlightener love of mine.

I'm exhausted having searched his words; he never speaks unkind.

He knows not foul language,
the pure and perfect embodiment of the infinite;
he lets my weaknesses go unrecorded.

The polluted ones, he makes pure, as is his nature.
Not one virtue does he leave unrewarded.

In each and every, and all, he dwells, nearest of the near.

Slave Nanak seeks his protection divine.
That sublime,
immortal,
enlightener love of mine.

-----------------------------

Holy Spirit,
Giving life to all life,
Moving all creatures,
Root of all things,
Washing them clean,
Wiping out their mistakes,
Healing their wounds,
You are our true life,
Luminous, wonderful,
Awakening the heart from its ancient sleep.

-----------------------------

How wonderful, O Lord, are the works of your hands!
The heavens declare Your glory,
the arch of the sky displays Your handiwork
In Your love You have given us the power
to behold the beauty of Your world
robed in all its splendor.
The sun and the stars, the valleys and the hills,
the rivers and the lakes all disclose Your presence.
The roaring breakers of the sea tell of Your awesome might,
the beast of the field and the birds of the air
bespeak Your wondrous will.
In Your goodness You have made us able to hear
the music of the world.
The voices of the loved ones
reveal to us that You are in our midst.
A divine voice sings through all creation.

-----------------------------

image of God
born of God's breath
vessel of divine Love
after his likeness
dwelling of God
capacity for the infinite
eternally known
chosen of God
home of the Infinite Majesty
abiding in the Son
called from eternity
life in the Lord
temple of the Holy Spirit
branch of Christ
receptacle of the Most High
wellspring of Living Water
heir of the kingdom
the glory of God
abode of the Trinity.
God sings this litany
eternally in his Word.
This is who you are.

-----------------------------

Indeed, You alone know Yourself
by Your own internal potency,
O Supreme Person,
origin of all,
Lord of all beings,
God of gods,
Lord of the universe!

-----------------------------

It can be heard in the doleful cry
Of a lonely whippoorwill . . .
In zephyr winds that softly touch
The nodding daffodil.

It can be seen in myriad reflections
On a moonlit lake . . .
In candles gleaming happily
Upon a birthday cake.

It can be felt in soothing warmth
Of summer's shining sun . . .
In rhythmic throbbing when two hearts
Beat metrically as one.

It can be smelled in sun-parched planting's
Gratitude for shower . . .
In the scent when soft wind kisses
Spring's first fragrant flower.

It can be savored only in
Undying thirst for Thee . . .
In lonely man imploring God
In meek humility.

It can be sensed while treading in
The paths where saints have trod . . .
In living, talking, loving, walking
Hand-in-hand with God.

-----------------------------

In the beginning was God,
Today is God,
Tomorrow will be God.
Who can make an image of God?
He has no body.
He is the word which comes out of your mouth.
That word!
It is no more,
It is past, and still it lives!
So is God.

-----------------------------

In the Name of God, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

Praise be to God, the Cherisher and Sustainer of the worlds,

The most Gracious, Most Merciful,

Master of the Day of Judgement.

Thee do we worship, and Thine aid we seek.

Show us the straight way.

The way of those on whom Thou hast bestowed Thy Grace, those whose (portion) is not wrath, and who go not astray.

-----------------------------

It was the wind that gave them life.
It is the wind that comes out of our mouths now
that gives us life.
When this ceases to blow we die.
In the skin at the tips of our fingers
we see the trail of the wind;
it shows us the wind blew
when our ancestors were created.

-----------------------------

I am always with you,
even when you are not able to feel me in your heart.
I love you always,
I surround you with my protecting love,
even when you occasionally forget me.
I listen to your problems,
if you are sincere and receptive, I give you solutions.
I hear your prayers and answer those which are in the best interest
of everyone in your life including, but not limited to, you.

I am the light and the thoughts in your mind,
I am the sight in your eyes,
I am the life in your body,
I am the feelings you feel in your heart.
I am always at work in your life for your greater good,
although you may not always believe this;
hopefully, your faith in me will grow constant.
you must realize:
"my will is whatever is happening in the present moment".
within this moment you must think and act
with integrity, humility and courage,
you must trust in me,
and surrender your will to mine through acceptance.
if you continue to demonstrate acceptance,
integrity, humility, courage and trust,
you will discover the secret of opening your heart to my love.
the greater your faith in me
the more I am able fill your heart with my love.

it is I, who grants you the serenity to accept
the things you cannot change,
the courage to change the things you can
and the wisdom to know the difference.
eventually you will realize the samplings of love
I bestow on you through others
are purposefully designed to draw you closer to me.
it is only I, who loves you unconditionally,
I am an ever-flowing fountain of love, peace and joy,
I will never disappoint you; I will always be with you.
I mete out to you the exact amount of pain you cause others,
because I want you to be compassionate.
I want you to be able to give love and equally as important,
I want you to be able to receive love.
how else will you learn to love me?
how will you learn to accept my love?
the moment you realize the error of your ways,
the moment you sincerely regret the pain you cause others,
I forgive you; I nourish you with my tender mercies.
remember, I never stop loving you for you are my precious child.

-----------------------------

I am, O my God,
but a tiny seed which Thou hast sown
in the soil of Thy love,
and caused to spring forth by the hand of Thy bounty.
This seed craveth, therefore,
in its inmost being,
for the waters of Thy mercy
and the living fountain of Thy grace.
Send down upon it,
from the heaven of Thy loving-kindness,
that which will enable it to flourish beneath Thy shadow
and within the borders of Thy court.
Thou art He Who watereth the hearts of all
that have recognized Thee from Thy plenteous stream
and the fountain of Thy living waters.
Praised be to God,
the Lord of the worlds.

-----------------------------

I arise today
Through a mighty strength:

God's power to guide me,
God's might to uphold me,
God's eyes to watch over me;
God's ear to hear me,
God's word to give me speech,
God's hand to guard me,
God's way to lie before me,
God's shield to shelter me,
God's host to secure me.

-----------------------------

I bear witness, O my God,
that Thou hast created me to know Thee
and to worship Thee.
I testify, at this moment,
to my powerlessness and to Thy might,
to my poverty and to Thy wealth.
There is none other God but Thee,
The Help in Peril, the Self-Subsisting.

-----------------------------

I beg Forgiveness of Allah, my Lord
From all the sins which I have committed,
Consciously and unconsciously,
Hidden and evident.

I repent and ask forgiveness for all my sins
Of which I am aware or not aware.

O Allah!
You are the Knower of all things unknown
And the Veiler of disgrace,
The Forgiver of sins.

There is no power or strength besides
Allah, the Exalted, The Supreme.

-----------------------------

I bow to You, O God,
Who appears in the astonishing form of Narasimhadeva,
half man and half lion.
For Your ever joyful devotee Prahlad, You are the source of joy.
Your fingernails are just like chisels
on the stone-like chest of the demon Hiranyakashipu.
Nrisimhadeva is here and Nrisimhadeva is there.
Wherever I may go, Lord Nrisimhadeva is there.
Lord Nrisimhadeva is far away on the outside,
but He is also in my own heart.
I surrender to Lord Nrisimhadeva,
who is the Origin of everything and the Supreme Shelter.

-----------------------------

I find you, Lord, in all things and in all
my fellow creatures, pulsing with your life;
as a tiny seed you sleep in what is small
and in the vast you vastly yield yourself.

-----------------------------

I lift these hands, dear God, to You,
in praise and thanks for all you do.
You light the path through all my days
and bless me with your loving ways...

I lift these hands dear God, to You,
in troubled hours when joys are few.
You bear me up on eagles'wings and see
me through each test life brings.

I lift these hands, dear God, to You,
please grant me wisdom, patience, too.
Then fill my heart with love and caring,
precious gifts you've made for sharing.

-----------------------------

I see no stranger, I see no enemy
Wherever I look, God is all I see

I don't think of us and them
No one do I hate or condemn
I see God's image – each one a friend.

Of any religion, caste or race
All I see is God's shining face
His smiling face, His gracious face.

Accept as beautiful all His design
I learnt this truth in sangat divine

One Word resounds in me and you
Waheguru ... Waheguru ...
In him, in her, in me and you
Waheguru ... Waheguru ...

Beholding in every being His light
I bloom like a flower in joy and delight.

-----------------------------

I shall breathe
the sweet breath
Which comes forth from Thy mouth.
I shall behold
Thy beauty everyday.
It is my desire that I may hear
Thy sweet voice,
Like the North Wind,
That my limbs may be quickened with life
Through love of Thee.
Give me Thy hands,
Holding Thy spirit,
That I may receive it,
And may live by it.
Call Thou upon my name throughout eternity,
And it shall never fail.

-----------------------------

I think over again my small adventures, my fears,
These small ones that seemed so big.
For all the vital things I had to get and to reach.
And yet there is only one great thing,
The only thing.
To live to see the great day that dawns
And the light that fills the world.

-----------------------------

Lord, you are my lover,
My longing,
My flowing stream,
My sun,
An I am your reflection.

-----------------------------

Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.
Serve the Lord with gladness;
come before his presence with singing.
Know ye that the Lord he is God;
it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves;
we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving,
and into his courts with praise;
be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting;
and his truth endureth to all generations.

-----------------------------

Most High, all-powerful, all-good Lord, All praise is Yours, all glory, all honor and all blessings. To you alone, Most High, do they belong, and no mortal lips are worthy to pronounce Your Name.

Praised be You my Lord with all Your creatures, especially Sir Brother Sun, Who is the day through whom You give us light. And he is beautiful and radiant with great splendour, Of You Most High, he bears the likeness.

Praised be You, my Lord, through Sister Moon and the stars, in the heavens you have made them bright, precious and fair.

Praised be You, my Lord, through Brothers Wind and Air, And fair and stormy, all weather's moods, by which You cherish all that You have made.

Praised be You my Lord through Sister Water, So useful, humble, precious and pure.

Praised be You my Lord through Brother Fire, through whom You light the night and he is beautiful and playful and robust and strong.

Praised be You my Lord through our Sister, Mother Earth who sustains and governs us, producing varied fruits with coloured flowers and herbs. Praise be You my Lord through those who grant pardon for love of You and bear sickness and trial. Blessed are those who endure in peace, By You Most High.

Praised be You, my Lord through Sister Death, from whom no-one living can escape. Woe to those who die in mortal sin! Blessed are they She finds doing Your Will. No second death can do them harm. Praise and bless my Lord and give Him thanks, And serve Him with great humility.

-----------------------------

My Lord God,

I have no idea where I am going
I do not see the road ahead of me.
I cannot know for certain where it will end.

Nor do I really know myself,
And the fact that I think I am following
your will does not mean that I am
actually doing so.

But I believe that the desire to please
you does in fact please you.
And I hope that I have that desire in all
that I am doing.
And I know that if I do this, you
will lead me by the right road
though I may know nothing about it.

Therefore will I trust you always
though I may seem to be lost
and in the shadow of death, I will
not fear, for you are ever with me
and you will never leave me
to face my perils alone.

-----------------------------

My soul doth magnify the Lord
and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.
For he hath regarded
the lowliness of his handmaiden.
For behold, from henceforth
all generations shall call me blessed.
For he that is mighty hath magnified me
and holy is his name.
And his mercy is on them that fear him
throughout all generations.
He hath shewed strength with his arm
he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
He hath put down the mighty from their seat
and hath exalted the humble and meek.
He hath filled the hungry with good things
and the rich he hath sent empty away.
He remembering his mercy hath holpen his servant Israel
as he promised to our forefathers, Abraham and his seed, for ever.

-----------------------------

My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord;
My spirit rejoices in God my savior.
For he has looked upon his handmaid's lowliness;
behold, from now on will all ages call me blessed.
The Mighty One has done great things for me, and holy is his name.
His mercy is from age to age to those who fear him.
He has shown might with his arm,
dispersed the arrogant of mind and heart.
He has thrown down the rulers from their thrones
but lifted up the lowly.
The hungry he has filled with good things;
the rich he has sent away empty.
He has helped Israel his servant, remembering his mercy,
According to his promise to our fathers,
to Abraham and to his descendants forever.

-----------------------------

Oh Almighty! Life is oblation!
We offer all fruits of duty to you.
Kindly concede!
We surrender everything to you!
Oh Almighty! May there be a Peace! Peace! Peace! Everywhere.

-----------------------------

You alone are God,
You were from of old,
And You will be until eternity, always, first and last,
Now and always for ever and ever.
As for You, You are the same,
and Your epoch will not come to an end;
As for You, You are the same,
and Your kingdom will not be abolished,
And Your Power is invincible,
And Your strength is untiring,
And Your magnificence will not be humbled,
And the splendour of Your Name will not be dispelled,
and the praise of Your exalted fame will not be diminished,
And Your light will not be darkened,
And Your decree will not be abrogated,
The pillar of Your word will not be overthrown,
And Your wisdom will not fall into error,
And Your counsel will not be concealed.
You alone are God, God of all;
You alone are God, Lord of all;
You alone are God, King of all;
You alone are God, Creator of all;
You alone are God, Conqueror of all;
You alone are God, Omnipotent;
You alone are God, Slayer of all;
You alone are God, Destroyer of all;
You alone are God, Saviour of all;
You alone are God, Life of all;
You alone are God, Sustainer of all;
You alone are God, Protector of all;
You alone are God, Restorer of all;
You alone are God, Raiser of all;
You alone are God, Supporter of all;
You alone are God, Helper of all;
You alone are God, A righteous God over all creation.

-----------------------------

You are the peace of all things calm
You are the place to hide from harm
You are the light that shines in dark
You are the heart's eternal spark
You are the door that's open wide
You are the guest who waits inside
You are the stranger at the door
You are the calling of the poor
You are my Lord and with me still
You are my love, keep me from ill
You are the light, the truth, the way
You are my Saviour this very day.

-----------------------------

You are holy, Lord,
the only God,
and Your deeds are wonderful.
You are strong.
You are great.
You are the Most High.
You are Almighty.
You, Holy Father are King of heaven and earth.
You are Three and One, Lord God, all Good.
You are Good, all Good, supreme Good, Lord God, living and true.
You are love.

You are all our riches, and You suffice for us.
You are beauty.
You are gentleness.
You are our protector.
You are our guardian and defender.
You are our courage.
You are our haven and our hope.
You are our faith, our great consolation.
You are our eternal life, Great and Wonderful Lord, God Almighty, Merciful Saviour.
