Bangkok's floods: A tale of two cities

Residents across much of northern Bangkok have lived with water levels like this for almost a month.

Many Bangkok residents stayed behind to protect their homes, becoming stranded in the process.

This woman's one-year-old boy took his first steps in the dilapidated old building, which has become their shelter.

Romeo Romei and his friend Alex Stamp spend most days on their boat helping Bangkok's worst-affected people survive.

Romeo and Alex load up the boat and spend all day distributing supplies, from food and water to clothes and books, to those they come across.

Romeo and Alex's supplies are always well-received.

Like many businesses across Thailand, Romeo's factory is fighting to keep out the surrounding water.

Romeo has dozens of pumps set up to flush out the water, a sight and sound typical of Bangkok right now.

On the homefront, Romeo's family has suffered as well; pictured is the lounge of his father's house.

More than 10 families share the upper floor of the building in Bangkok.
