While Kennedy describes the state of the world as one fraught with danger and uncertainty, he expresses great confidence in the commitment of American government, the still-young United Nations, and the notion of American freedom which he believes will serve as an inspiration during the Cold War.

레이건 대통령은 미국인들 가운데서 실시하는 역대 대통령 인기조사에서 10년 이상 1등을 유지하고 있습니다. 2등은 링컨 대통령입니다. 레이건 대통령은 미국 역대 대통령 중에서 최고의 소통자(The Greatest Communicator)라는 칭호를 들을 정도로 연설을 잘했습니다. 클린턴 대통령과 쌍벽을 이루거나 한 수 위인 것 같습니다. 이런 연설은 여러번 듣고 보아서 거의 흉내낼 수 있을 정도로까지 해볼 필요가 있을 것 같습니다. 요즘을 흔히 소통의 시대라 하는데, 이런 연설을 통해 배울 점이 참 많을 것 같습니다.
